FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region is currently part of a business delegation from the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which aims to open up opportunities for regional companies in the south-east of the USA and to attract US companies to the Frankfurt RheinMain business hub.
The trip, led by Ulrich Caspar, President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce, takes the delegation to the business hubs of Atlanta (Georgia) and Charlotte (North Carolina). The aim is to further expand the Frankfurt RheinMain region’s network in the US and to deepen economic ties with these two growth centres in the south-east of the United States.
In addition to Ulrich Caspar, President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and Eric Menges, CEO of FRM GmbH, Julius Bosak, who is responsible for the joint Chicago office of FRM GmbH and Hessen Trade und Invest GmbH (HTAI), also took part in the business trip.
Alongside visits to US companies and potential candidates for business relocation, the business reception “Frankfurt meets Atlanta: Transatlantic Business Reception”, organised by FRM GmbH, was also on the itinerary. The business reception, which took place on 28 April 2026 in downtown Atlanta, facilitated direct exchanges between the delegation members and US company representatives, as well as regional business networks.
The transatlantic exchange focused on key sectors such as FinTech, life sciences, and transport and mobility, which are of particular importance to both locations.
Around 60 representatives from US companies took part in the event. Eric Menges and Ulrich Caspar used the occasion to encourage participants to invest in the Frankfurt RheinMain region. The representatives of German companies who had travelled with them were also on hand to answer any questions from interested business representatives regarding living and working in the German metropolitan region.
The reception hosted by FRM GmbH helps to successfully position the Frankfurt RheinMain region in the US market and to further strengthen economic partnerships and networks in the North American market.
“We have had our own representative office in the USA under the umbrella of the AHK Chicago since 2009. This partnership has proved extremely successful for us. It enables us to make early and direct contact with companies interested in the Frankfurt RheinMain business location, and to provide them with comprehensive advice and support right from the start of a potential relocation process. When company representatives subsequently visit Frankfurt, they are seamlessly supported by our team on the ground. Discussions in the US have made it clear that, despite complex conditions and a challenging global environment, Germany enjoys a high reputation. “We are perceived as a reliable, open and forward-looking partner, and Frankfurt RheinMain stands for stability, internationality and openness – values that are highly appreciated across the Atlantic,” said Eric Menges, CEO of FRM GmbH.
Ulrich Caspar, President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce, adds: “The USA is a key economic partner for the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Industry and Commerce district, which comprises the city of Frankfurt as well as the Hochtaunus and Main-Taunus districts. With more than 1,900 company branches and 15 German headquarters, Frankfurt RheinMain is the leading location for American companies in Germany. Numerous US corporations manage their European operations from here. To secure this strong position for the future, the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce offers a specialised US Desk that provides targeted support to companies with market entry, customs matters and the matching of business partners.”
Frankfurt am Main and Atlanta (Georgia) are linked by close economic ties. Both cities play a central role as international hubs in their respective regions: Frankfurt as a leading economic and financial centre in Europe, and Atlanta as a rapidly growing economic hub in the south-east of the USA. An important foundation of this connection is the daily direct flights between Frankfurt Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, two of the world’s busiest airports. These facilitate exchanges between companies and investors. Numerous German companies are active in the Atlanta metropolitan area, whilst US companies are among the most important investors in the Frankfurt RheinMain region. Atlanta and Frankfurt RheinMain share common priorities in sectors such as technology, mobility, the automotive industry and life sciences/pharmaceuticals, which shape their economic ties.
